While Shah Rukh Khan was obssessed with one girl Kiran (Juhi Chawla) in Darr, Karanvir Bohra’s remake will have two girls! Does that mean he will be obssessed with both the girls? Karanvir, who plays SRK’s role in the film, refuses to give details. He, however, admits that there are changes in the story. While Priya Banerjee, who made her debut with Jazbaa, has been signed on for the role that Juhi played in the original, the hunt for the other girl is on.

Interestingly, before Priya was chosen, Karanvir had finalised two Pakistani TV actresses, Ainy Jaffri and Mawra Hocane. However, visa problems at the last minute led to their cancellation. “There were a couple of reasons why I wanted to cast Pakistani actresses. One is, the story is based in Manali, so I needed girls with the pahadi look. Pakistani girls come close to it as they have sharper features. Secondly, the girl in the film is a poet and I needed that leheza and language. However, close to the time of shooting, the officials started asking for the specific city and location of the shoot. Also, here there were issues raised over Pakistani artistes shooting in India. So, I had to drop the idea.” He is however, happy that he got Priya on board as she fits the bill. “Priya is pretty, petite and has a vulnerability just like Juhi. I am more than happy at the way things have turned out,” smiles Karanvir.

Ask him who is he considering for the other role and he says it will definitely be a TV actress as he has a connect.

The actor who was last seen in Qubool Hai is also still trying to get the title Jaanam which is registered with Mahesh Bhatt. “The title is apt for my film and I am in talks with Bhattsahab to acquire it,” he says.
