PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 had a good weekend grossing 20.50 crore nett. The film grossed 5.75 crore nett on Friday, 7 crore nett on Saturday and 7.75 crore nett on Sunday. The growth was 22% on Friday and 10% on Sunday. It is a decent trend but not great. Better growth of around 30% plus would have set up the film well for a good run. Now it's all about the Monday Business which will tell if the film can be more than a one week runner.

The film is being driven by business in Delhi NCR and East Punjab and these area do hold well on the weekdays and this can be a boost to the film. Some areas have fared poorly with Nizam/Andhra being the worst of the lot.

The film beat the lifetime business of PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA (2011) in just two days. That film had trended well at the box office but could not do that well due to very dull start. But PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 has got benefit of the appreciation that PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA had garnered among its target audience mainly youth in the Delhi NCR area.
