The business of PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 may emerge the third highest of the year till date in Delhi/UP after BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS. WELCOME BACK is third at the moment with a little under 19 crore nett and PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 can challenge that.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 is still leading the box office race with the highest collections out of all releases playing despite being in its fourth week. The film has collected around 50 lakhs nett on its fourth Friday so should gross a around 3 crore nett from a shortened week due to the release of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO on Thursday.

The new releases CHARLIE KAY CHAKKAR MEIN, FOUR PILLARS OF BASEMENT, RANBANKA and YAARA SILLY SILLY are total disasters. Only CHARLIE KAY CHAKKAR MEIN registered around 20-25 lakhs nett and YAARA SILLY SILLY was next best while the other two hardly had any collections.

MAIN AUR CHARLES from last week is still running and should do around 1 crore nett business in its second week.

The third week trend is very strong with a drop of 52%. It was helped by weak new releases and it is a similar story this week and with another six days to add to its total it should comfortably cross 60 crore nett.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 grossed 4 crore nett in its third weekend. It was the best performing film this week and has taken its total business close to 56 crore nett. The film will manage to hit 60 crore nett before the release of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO next week. The business of PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 in Delhi/UP will beat a few of the big budget films released thus year.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 continued it's strong run in its third week and seems certain to hit 60 crore nett. The film grossed around 1-1.10 crore nett on its third Friday which takes its total to 53 crore nett. The film remains tops in North India out grossing all the new releases.

SHAANDAAR crashed further on its eight day with collections of 40-45 lakhs nett. The first day was 11.75 crore nett which is a crash of 95% plus. The first day was a holiday but it is pretty certain that over the week it will be a 90% plus fall. The total of the film in eight days is 36.50 crore nett apprx.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 should go to around 4 crore nett for the weekend while best case for SHAANDAAR will be half of that.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 grossed 14 crore nett in its second week taking its two week business to 50.75 crore nett apporx. The drop in the second week is 61%. The Monday to Thursday business was almost the same as the new release SHAANDAAR despite PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 being in week two.

The second week collections are amongst the top ten of 2015. They are not much behind big films like DIL DHADAKNE DO and DRISHYAM which did 15 and 16 apprx respectively.  The film is excellent in the Delhi NCR area and it's lifetime business in Delhi/UP will be around 18 crore nett which is similar to what SINGH IS BLIING did.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 could even emerge the leading film this week over the weekend. The film should finish around the 60 crore nett mark.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 has grossed 45 crore nett in ten days as the second weekend did business of 8.25 crore nett. The film benefited from the crash of SHAANDAAR as its the same target audience and with the reports of SHAANDAAR being bad it gave PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 a good boost at the beginning of the second week. The film dropped just 30% on Friday coming off a holiday on Thursday as the audience switched back to PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2  from SHAANDAAR which was a Thursday release

The plus for the film is business in mass areas like CP, CI Rajasthan and Bihar. Although business is not huge, its still pretty good for a content film because normally these areas give very low numbers for successful content films like a BADLAPUR or QUEEN.

The film will be the dominating film till Diwali and PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO and should now do a minimum 55 crore nett business.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 had a solid hold on day eight with business in the 2-2.25 crore nett range. The film has held very strongly despite the release of SHAANDAAR and it's failure has also probably helped on its second Friday as its the same target audience. The drop on its eight day is around 60-65% which is excellent. It makes it even better in face of the competition.

The film has grossed 37 crore nett plus so far and it will easily cross the 50 crore nett mark. The weekend should go over 8 crore nett and it could even be flirting with 50 crore nett at the end of week two if the weekend shows more than expected growth.

SHAANDAAR has crashed at the box office so PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 will now dominate the box office till the release of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO. But in November it will pre Diwali period and box office collection is down in this period.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 had a good first week of 36.80 crore nett apprx. The film had a good start and held up very well on the weekdays. Even with the release of SHAANDAAR on Thursday it remained largely unaffected. The film has managed to add nearly 14 crore nett over the weekdays which is excellent considering the weekend was 21.54 crore nett. The weekdays have added close to 70% of the weekend business

The film is fantastic in North India with both Delhi/UP and East Punjab set for a long run. The business of Mumbai which was weaker on the weekend held up strong on the weekdays.

The second Friday will determine where the film is going but the way it has held up on the weekdays it should be able to cross 50 crore nett mark and will do business at least four time more than PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA (2011).

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 held up very on Monday with collections dropping around 30% from day one. The hold in Mumbai was very good as it had been under performing over the weekend. The business of PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 over the first four days is as follows.

The film would normally land up with a 35 crore nett plus week on this trend but here the new release will come in Thursday so it depends on how it plays out on Thursday. The holiday advantage can compensate the new release factor.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA continued its good run on Tuesday dropping around 15% from the previous day. The business of PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 over the first five days is as follows.

The first week business will probably be in the 33-34 crore nett range depending on what happens on Thursday.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 had a good weekend grossing 20.50 crore nett. The film grossed 5.75 crore nett on Friday, 7 crore nett on Saturday and 7.75 crore nett on Sunday. The growth was 22% on Friday and 10% on Sunday. It is a decent trend but not great. Better growth of around 30% plus would have set up the film well for a good run. Now it's all about the Monday Business which will tell if the film can be more than a one week runner.

The film is being driven by business in Delhi NCR and East Punjab and these area do hold well on the weekdays and this can be a boost to the film. Some areas have fared poorly with Nizam/Andhra being the worst of the lot.

The film beat the lifetime business of PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA (2011) in just two days. That film had trended well at the box office but could not do that well due to very dull start. But PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 has got benefit of the appreciation that PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA had garnered among its target audience mainly youth in the Delhi NCR area.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 did well on day one as it grossed around 5.50-5.75 crore nett. PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA had failed to collect even 1 crore nett on day one. The film does have some brand value as with no face value it has managed to surpass many opening day collections of bigger films like BOMBAY VELVET, PIKU, KATTI BATTI and JAZBAA.

The film has done well in the North with Delhi/UP grossing 1.50 crore nett and East Punjab 80 Lakhs nett. The Delhi/UP collections are mainly from the Delhi side with UP cities outside Noida/Ghaziabad giving limited collections.  The collections in Mumbai are bit less but that is expected as its a Delhi based film with no face value.

The film will need normal weekend trending to cross 20 crore nett in three days. A normal 20-30% increase on Saturday will see it cross the business of the first film but costs are also more than double of the first film.

WEDDING PULLAV was the best of the other releases but it will fail to hit the 10 lakhs nett mark.
