As the face of the Miss Ethnic contest organised by e-commerce portal Craftsvilla, Kareena Kapoor will crown the winner. Says the site’s founder Manoj Gupta, “Kareena wears a lot of ethnic dresses and is an accomplished actress. We told her about the concept of the contest and she was excited to come on board.” Unlike other pageants, however, this one focuses lesser on beauty and more on women who are ethnic in life — dancers, singers, cooks, social workers, mehendi artistes et al. Most importantly, age and marital status are no bar.
