Sonam Kapoor has turned producer (she’s co-producing Battle For Bittora and another film with sister Rhea). BFB stars Fawad Khan alongside the actress.

Says Sonam, “I was a producer in Aisha (produced by dad Anil, sis Rhea and Sunil Manchanda), but a silent one. It was Rhea who convinced me to turn a proper producer now and have my name in the credit titles. She feels it’s high time. I will be involved in every department of production — from finances to research to costumes and casting. I will be producing Battle For Bittora along with another film.”

The second film she’s producing is an “emotional drama”, quite unlike BFB, but refuses to reveal more, saying “it’s too early to talk about it.”

WORK TIMELINE
* Sonam’s currently shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in Karjat with Salman Khan.
* She returns mid-September to dub for and complete the post-production for Neerja, the Neerja Bhanot biopic directed by Ram Madhvani.
* Post that, she starts shooting for Battle For Bittora, directed by Shashanka Ghosh.
* Her second home production rolls after that.
