His lead actor Irrfan has so far always been presented as the character he plays. But in Jazbaa, we are seeing a stylised Irrfan for the first time mouthing seetiwaale one liners. Telling us about styling Irrfan, Sanjay said, “Irrfan is a fantastic actor but so far, he has always been presented as a character in the film, but I was clear that I wanted to break the barrier and bring him in the space of herogiri. He is the hero and just like I used to do with Sanju, Irrfan too is wearing these cool clothes, speaking these great one-liners. The connection between me and Sanju has always been strong. And I have always styled him in a manner that connected with people and made Sanju a style icon. I wanted to do the same with Irrfan. When Irrfan signed the film, the promise I made to him was that I would present him the same way as I had presented Sanju. As a matter of fact, I showed Sanju the trailer when he was out on parole and he caught on and said, 'Irrfan is looking really cool'.''
