With so many star kids following in their parents’ footsteps, it’s natural to speculate if the sons and daughters of Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Khan’s sons will be launched by their famous fathers on the big screen.Their older kids are all in their 20s and haven’t shown an interest in acting yet.

Aamir says he would not have a problem if Ira or Junaid or both told them that they’d like to take up acting as a career, “I would love it. I mean I’d be happy. See, my kids can choose whatever they want. I will support them and Reena will support them and Kiran will support them. If they join films, I will be happier because this is my field, it’s my line, I’ll get to work with them, I’ll get to share that with them. Having said that, I’d like them to make up their own minds. I don’t like to ask them what they want to do. Let them decide. I feel strongly about that.”

However he is clear that he will only launch his children if they are worthy. “If they deserve to be launched, I’ll launch them. If I don’t feel that they deserve a break I won’t give it them, then they can find acting jobs on their own.”

Be fearless
Aamir admits that his relationship with his father was very different from the one he has with his kids, “Junaid, Ira and I are friends. We talk about everything under the sun. There is nothing that we don’t talk about and they know they can discuss anything with me. What I am keen on, is that anything that they want to do — films or anything else — they should just plunge in and learn all about it. They should be fearless, like I feel I have been. I would encourage them to be fearless because you should not get scared of failing. Every film I do has done huge business. But a few months before the release, we are all on tenterhooks.”
