BROTHERS had a good to decent weekend in terms of its collection which was aided by Independence Day on 15th August. But the weekend trend was poor and the film crashed out on the weekdays. The writing was on the wall on Saturday and the business on Monday sealed its fate.

The business is poor all over with metros starting well below the mark and the circuits that started well on Friday could not grow as much on day two which was the big holiday. The first week business is less than films like ABCD 2 and TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS.

There is not much hope for week two and just remains to be seen where it finishes as per the two other Akshay Kumar starrers this year - BABY (82 crore nett) and GABBAR IS BACK (87 crore nett). Irrespective of how it finally grosses against those two films it will lose more due to higher costs.
