BROTHERS has fared very poorly as it grossed 7.75 crore nett in week two and took its two week total to 72.25 crore nett. The week on week fall is a huge 88% as collections crashed in all circuits.

The business of the film will stay below GABBAR IS BACK in all circuits except Mysore and Tamil Nadu/Kerala. It will also be below BABY barring Bihar, Assam and Odisha. The film is out of most theaters this week and is not likely to reach even 75 crore nett for its lifetime business. A circuit like Mumbai will finish 7-8 crore nett less than a film like DRISHYAM and its not as if DRISHYAM is a hit in Mumbai.

The film is probably the biggest disappointment of the year so far outside BOMBAY VELVET. The film was never going to be a huge grosser due to the genre but a 74 crore nett final number is a case of the worst case scenario coming true.

BROTHERS grossed 80 lakhs nett on its second Monday and has grossed just 6 crore nett apprx in its first foyr days of the second week. The business of BROTHERS till date is as follows.

BROTHERS crashed 88% in its second weekend as it grossed just 5.25 crore nett apprx in its second weekend. The business of BROTHERS till date is as follows.

The film has been rejected by the paying public and if you take out that big Independence Day holiday then the collections make for even worse reading.

BROTHERS had a huge fall in business on day eight with collections in the 1.25-1.50 crore nett range. The drop is 90% from its first day. This huge drop has come even though the new releases were weak and in reality a film a big like BROTHERS should be dominating the box office this week also.

The film should grow over the weekend but not like successful films and the weekend may come out to be around 5 crore nett. If its lucky it may come out a bit higher but the fact is its not going to do even a 10 crore nett second week which is unthinkable for a big film.

Brothers has no chance to do the lifetime business of GABBAR IS BACK and even the figures of BABY look out of reach. So despite being Akshay Kumar's biggest film of the year it will probably turn out to be his lowest grosser as compared to the two previous films.

BROTHERS had a good to decent weekend in terms of its collection which was aided by Independence Day on 15th August. But the weekend trend was poor and the film crashed out on the weekdays. The writing was on the wall on Saturday and the business on Monday sealed its fate.

The business is poor all over with metros starting well below the mark and the circuits that started well on Friday could not grow as much on day two which was the big holiday. The first week business is less than films like ABCD 2 and TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS.

There is not much hope for week two and just remains to be seen where it finishes as per the two other Akshay Kumar starrers this year - BABY (82 crore nett) and GABBAR IS BACK (87 crore nett). Irrespective of how it finally grosses against those two films it will lose more due to higher costs.

BROTHERS fell again on Tuesday though it was a  reasonable 10%. The damage has already been done with the huge fall on Monday and collections are at low levels. The first five day business of Brothers is as follows.

The film will close the week at around 68 crore nett and though competition in week two is not tough in form of ALL IS WELL, it will struggle to put up numbers and in the end it will only be able to add 20-30% to its first week business.

BROTHERS had a huge crash on Monday as business was over 60% lower than Friday. The collections crashed in all circuits. The first four day business of BROTHERS is as follows.

The first week will do business around 67-68 crore nett which is lower than films like ABCD 2 and TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS. Akshay Kumar's GABBAR IS BACK grossed nearly 87 crore nett but and it looks a big task for BROTHERS to even match that.

BROTHERS showed good growth of 55-60% on Saturday but as it was a huge holiday for Independence day so the growth should have been more. The first two day business of BROTHERS is as follows.

Sunday is now crucial for the film and it really needs Sunday to be around its Saturday figure or at least 20 crore nett which should enable the weekdays to hold up.

BROTHERS grossed 49.75 crore nett over its first weekend and though the figure is good it does not tell the complete story. The near 50 crore nett business has mainly come due to the big Independence day holiday on Saturday while on Friday and Sunday the film has not performed. The first three day business of BROTHERS is as follows.

The business on Sunday was a killer though the warning signs were there on Saturday as key centers did not grow as they should gave. Still as next day was a Sunday, you would have thought the film to get away with it with perhaps a small drop but it was not to be.

The business on Sunday is much lower than a film like HOLIDAY and even lower than GABBAR IS BACK. The Sunday drop will probably mean it will be tough going on the weekdays. Due to the fact that the weekend was inflated by the big holiday and the poor trend it has practically no chance to add 50% on weekdays to its weekend business.

BROTHERS could not really make the mark on day one as it grossed 13.50 crore. The film did well in the regular Akshay Kumar markets but could not perform in the metros especially the multiplexes. The collections in Mumbai city, Delhi city, Kolkata and Bangalore were not upto the mark. The single screens and mass markets did better but that won't be enough unless the big multiplexes pick up hugely today.

The collections are lower than ABCD 2 and not much higher than GABBAR IS BACK making it the third best opening of the year the film had good collections in East Punjab, Rajasthan and Bihar. Mumbai did not perform well.

The second day which is Independence day is crucial for the film and it needs to jump 70-80% to get over that 50 crore nett mark for the weekend. A 50 crore nett weekend would be a good weekend result normally but here with such a big holiday it would be average at best as it is very unlikely that the film will add 50% on the weekdays to the weekend figure..
