You would think that Circuit in Rajkumar Hirani’s Munnabhai series would be Arshad Warsi’s most favourite role in his entire career. Not according to the actor. “For me, it was just another role. The film did well, my character was appreciated and everyone benefitted. I don’t think I did anything extraordinary. I don’t really dwell too much on roles. If you ask me, I think I have a long way to go,” he says. He does reveal that the long-delayed Munnabhai 3 will definitely take off. Brushing aside all rumours of the film being shelved, he says, “The film will definitely happen.”

Arshad admits that though lead actor Sanjay Dutt’s jail term has obviously delayed the project, the project is ready, waiting to roll when Sanjay is ready. “Sanjay will be out soon and then, he will want to spend time with his kids and family. He also needs to get into the work mode. Nobody is going to rush him to get back to shooting, but it will be good for him, too. This film will bring him back,” Arshad says. Would Arshad have been a part of the film had they decided to go ahead with a new protagonist? “I don’t think so. It’s a bad idea to do Munnabhai without Sanju. In fact, I think Circuit became this popular only because of him. He is a huge star but he isn’t the least bit insecure. He is absolutely non-interefering and what anyone else is doing, doesn’t bother him. I wouldn’t be able to do what I did with the role if it wasn’t for him. Any other star would have his insecurities,” he says.
