Finally the results are out! It’s a pleasure to announce that Fenil’s Half Yearly Awards is getting bigger and bigger as each year passes. I did expect that there would be an increase in the number of voters this year. Yet, I was highly and pleasantly surprised! A bigggg thank you to all the people who took out time to vote and to also recommend to their movie buff friends, colleagues and acquaintances!

This year, however, not many celebrities retweeted/favourited the URL of the Half Yearly Awards. However, the fans and aam junta went all out in promoting this initiative, resulting in loads and loads of votes!

Now to the results! It was an unpredictable situation in certain categories and the clear winner was difficult to anticipate till the last day! In few categories, though, the winner was clear. What's surprising is that Dil Dhadakne Do managed to win in almost all popular categories - Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor In a Leading Role (Male), Best Supporting Actor (Male), Best Supporting Role (Female) and even Best Debutant (Female). The Best Debutant (Female) award was in fact bagged by Ridhima Sud for Dil Dhadakne Do, beating Bhumi Pednekar in Dum Lage Ke Haisha by a huge margin. In Best Actor In a Leading Role (Female), it was Deepika Padukone who emerged victorious, ahead of Kangana Ranaut's wondrerful double role act in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. In fact, Tanu Weds Manu Returns didn't win in a single category. The same happened with other popular films of the year like Baby and Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Badlapur won 2 awards, but in the music categories. It lost in the Best Lyricist category by just 3 votes and Nawazuddin Siddiqui lost in Best Actor In A Supporting (Male) category by mere 9 votes. In Best M Playback Singer category, Atif Aslam defeated Arijit Singh as he had 2 votes more! Ridhima Sud (pictured below) garnered 55.14% votes in Best Debut (Female) - the highest %age of votes won by anyone this year.
