In Shandaar, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt play a groom and bride, who have a destination wedding in Europe. Which isn’t too far from real life. Shahid, too, has opted for a destination wedding and ties the knot with Mira Rajput on July 10 in Greece.

All Shahid’s industry friends — producer Madhu Mantena, filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikas Bahl and Kunal Kohli, composer duo Salim-Sulaiman, among others are all set to fly down. The entire entourage of friends and family leaves in the second week of July for Greece for the four-day wedding festivities.

Says one of Shahid’s close friends, “The entire wedding is in Greece and was planned by Shahid down to the last detail. We don’t know why he chose to marry outside India. Maybe it is the influence of the film that he has done with Alia. Shandaar mein destination wedding shoot karte hue Shahid ko itna mazaa aaya, ki woh apni destination wedding kar raha hai.”
