Actor-entrepreneur admits he's an admirer of female beauty too but says will never launch a calendar featuring models
Sanyukta Iyer (MUMBAI MIRROR; June 23, 2015)
"My character is inspired from Vijay Mallya but I told Madhur at the start that I would not play Mallya but myself on screen. My character is an industrialist with lots of business interests," Suhel told Mirror. "Like my character, I'm an admirer of feminine beauty and love wearing suits too. But unlike him, I think engaging with models and photographers is tedious. I'd never launch a calendar," he sighs.
Currently in the UK, Suhel states that between board meetings and jumping time zones, he has no breathing space and took time out for this film only because Madhur is a good old friend. His scenes were shot in a two-day marathon schedule in Mumbai.
"Madhur is a sensitive filmmaker with a quick read of consumer patterns and sociological trends. He filmed the grand launch party of the calendar, amongst other scenes, during that tight schedule. Since I come from a theatre background, I'm used to learning all my lines. Many actors fumble with their dialogue, but I always challenge myself to a one-take and deliver too," he asserts.
And did he get to do a thumka in this film? "I did not shake anything in this film but I wish I had," he guffaws.
