Veteran actor Dharmendra, who recently injured his shoulder, says he will undergo surgery next month.
The 79-year-old actor was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on May 27 after he complained of pain in the right shoulder and weakness.
Maintaining that he is in good health now, Dharmendra said, "I am fit and fine. While getting down from my vanity van, I fell down and happened to injure my shoulder. I also got my routine check up done, in which we came to know that my haemoglobin count was a bit low. In January, it was 13 then it came down to 6 now it is 12."
He will undergo surgery after his next film is released.
The veteran actor said that his family often reminds him to quit drinking but he finds it difficult to do it. "I tell her (my wife) I will do it on Tuesday... but the Tuesday doesn't come," he said jokingly.
Dharmendra has delivered many superhit films such as Anupama, Satyakam, Chupke Chupke, Jeevan Mrityu and Mera Gaon Mera Desh. He immortalised the character of Veeru in the 1975 blockbuster Sholay.
In recent years, he has featured in Yamla Pagla Deewana and its sequel, Life in a... Metro, Tell Me O Kkhuda and Johnny Gaddaar.
The former Lok Sabha member was conferred with the Padma Bhushan in 2012
