On Tuesday night, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, known to have discovered acting talent for films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Kai Po Che!, threw a big bash to celebrate his 35th birthday at a watering hole in Juhu. While his directors who have worked with him in the past, like Abhishek Kapoor, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane, showed up in strong numbers, it was a Kangana Ranaut's entry that set the party on fire. House music ruled the roost but at midnight, soon after a cake was cut, the tunes changed to hit Bollywood numbers. A guest at the do said: “Kangana completely stole the thunder as every director wanted to have a chat with her. She was busy talking to Vishal Bhardwaj. However, she left pretty soon and didn't stay for long.“ While Kangy was busy with all the attention, it was Anurag Kashyap who was spotted sitting quietly in a corner without mingling much with the guests.“He hardly had anything to say...he stayed for a while but didn't interact much other than chilling with his Bombay Velvet crew,“ a guest said adding that Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, who came after midnight, were spotted having an intense conversation.

While their banter continued, a lovelorn couple was going out of the way to ignore each other. “Shraddha and Aditya Roy Kapur were there but ignored each other. She hung out with Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande instead.“ Talking of Sushant, if there was anyone who let his hair loose, it was him. “He took charge of the dance floor aand even dragged Mukesh, who was busy chatting up with Preity Zinta.“

Despite several attempts by all the stars, the party had to pack up at 1.30 am sharp. “However, the revelry then moved to Krishika Lulla's house where most guests stayed till the wee hours.“
