Karan Johar’s production house, Dharma, will apparently move out of Khar after over two decades. The filmmaker is said to have bought a huge property in Andheri (West) and will shift there by the end of 2016.
A source close to KJo says, “He needs a bigger place considering the rate at which the company is growing. His current office, which is located above a popular coffee shop, occupies one entire floor. But since one part of it has been converted into an edit room, space is an issue.”
Most Bollywood folk operate from Andheri, be it production studios, editing suites, rehearsal halls and casting studios. There are, however, a handful of actors and filmmakers who have their offices in Bandra. “Karan will be renovating the property he has bought and it is more than two times the size of his Khar office,” adds the source.
Current projects of Dharma Productions include 'Brothers', 'Kapoor & Sons', 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and an Ayan Mukherji superhero flick that is yet to be titled.
KJo remained unavailable for comment.
