Whispers in the industry suggest that Hrithik Roshan has played a cameo in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do, which is due for release in June.

Says a source, “Hrithik shares a great rapport with Zoya and has even admitted that he can never say ‘no’ to her. So, when she approached him for a special appearance in her film, he happily obliged.”

The actor, who was part of Zoya’s previous projects like Luck By Chance (2009) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), had recently shared Dil Dhadakne Do’s trailer on his microblogging account saying: “Frankly I’m just jealous of every actor that gets to work with her! Zoya’s dil dhadakne do! Have u seen it yet? ( sic).” The movie is a comedy drama themed around a dysfunctional Punjabi family on a cruise trip.

A source close to the project confirms the buzz, stating: “Hrithik enters the film at a crucial juncture, and although his role is small, it’s quite effective.”

Zoya was unavailable for comment.
