No, this pic isn't from the sepia-tinted era of the '50s. It was clicked sometime in 2014, on the behest of Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet leading ladies.
Anushka Sharma and Raveena Tandon who play jazz singers in the period drama were miffed because day after day, the director would make them wriggle into elaborate costumes with skyhigh bouffants to match. So, one day, they decided to teach AK what it is like to walk around with so much 'baggage'.
A source who was present on location in Sri Lanka told Mirror that Anurag who was usually seen in a pair of jeans or track pants was coerced into wearing formal trousers, topped with a jacket and a bow-tie. To complete the look, he was also handed a pipe to chew on. The source added, "Anurag looked like a Hollywood director from the 1940s and even spoke like one all night. But the next morning, he was himself again."
