Sunny Leone’s Ek Paheli Leela is up for release. Then there’s also Dilip Mehta’s documentary on her life. And while this docu would be the first of its kind for a Bollywood actress, there has been a bit of a premature PR overdrive around its desired destination.
It was reported that the documentary would be premiered at the Sundance Film festival, with Leone’s husband Daniel Weber being quoted as confirming the premiere.
Mehta is not amused and says, “I begin editing this film in May. So, there is no question of premiering it at either Toronto, Sundance or Cannes. Some well-wisher with an overactive imagination is the root cause of this misinformation. And I can’t imagine Daniel Weber adding fuel to the fire either.”
Concludes the filmmaker, “Would we like the film to be at these amazing venues? Absolutely. But that’s another story, isn’t it?”
