TV-turned-film actor Sharad Kelkar will play the role of Gopinath Munde in the Marathi film Sangharsh Yatra, a biopic based on the late politician.

Says Sharad, “Portraying his character on the big screen is a big responsibility for me and I do not want to make any mistakes. I have started researching for it and am attending workshops as well. He was a witty speaker and to get that aspect right, I am watching the video clips of his speeches and meeting people who were around him to get the tone right.“

His look in the film will be modified as per the age of the protagonist. “The film will portray the leader right from his young age till his demise,“ says Sharad.
