After working in critically acclaimed films like Kai Po Che, Shahid and Citylights, Rajkummar Rao has been honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. His performance in Citylights has won him this award and while he has kept it low-key, he is extremely happy that his efforts are finally paying off. “I got to know about this three days ago. It was unexpected and out of the blue but it’s a great feeling. Citylights is a special film and it’s always a great feeling when your efforts are recognised. I am glad I won this honour for Citylights as a lot of hardwork went into the making of the film. I didn’t even know I was being considered for the award so it was a pleasant surprise,” beams the actor.
