Jackky Bhagnani joins the long list of actors who have sung songs for their films — like Alia Bhatt (Highway), Shraddha Kapoor (Ek Villain), Sonakshi Sinha (Tevar) and Salman Khan (Kick). Jackky has lent his voice for a song in his upcoming movie, Welcome To Karachi.
Singer-rapper Badshah was supposed to rap for a few portions in the song but he fell ill at the last minute and Rochak Kohli, the music director was left stranded. Rochak asked Jackky if he could try rapping. The actor began humming a few lines and after some practise was confident he could do it. A source informs, “Jackky has got the Gujarati accent for his character bang-on and that makes the song special.”
Jackky is happy with the way the song has turned out and says he would love to take to the mic again. The fact that he has been a fan of rappers like Eminem and more recently, Yo Yo Honey Singh, helped to a large extent. “Music is a huge part of my life, but like everyone else, I have just been a bathroom singer. We were stranded when the original singer couldn’t lend his voice so Rochak asked me to give rapping a shot. I was in Indore and Rochak took a flight, booked a studio and we wrote the lines then and there. Thankfully, the song sounds pretty cool. Also, it works perfectly in this scenario because so many young actors are singing for their own movies. Though I am not trained and I have no experience at all, I enjoyed it and would love to do it once again.”
