Vidyut Jammwal will return
as an undercover agent again in the Commando sequel.
“Yes, I am doing Commando 2. Commando was and will always be
very special. I'm hoping the sequel takes the franchise forward on an
even larger and grander scale,“ he asserts.
Prod him for details and he turns evasive, “Vipul Shah (the producer) is the only person who can reveal any details. I'm sure there will be a lot to look forward to in the sequel but I don't want to say anything until we start shooting which should be in a couple of months.“
However, Sujoy Ghosh will still have to look for a cop to stop Saif Ali Khan and his neighbour Kangana Ranaut from getting away with murder, literally, in the adapation of the Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X. Vidyut admits that he had met Sujoy a few times for the role but won't be a part of the project.
Why the second thoughts? “Second thoughts arise when you make a commitment and then retract. That was not the case here. I hadn't signed a contract or committed to the film. While it did sound interesting, it wasn't a genre I saw myself in to be honest,“ he says.
Meanwhile, Vidyut's been shooting for Tigmanshu Dhulia's Yaara and is really excited about playing a character who spans age groups across every aspect look, acting, body language and the story progression. Earlier, Irrfan Khan and Tigmanshu were to play the older characters but eventually, the makers decided to stay with Vidyut and Amit Sadh. “Working with Tishu sir again has been a phenomenal experience,“ he gushes. “I've learnt the nuances of acting from him which is hard to explain in words.“
