I have so many friends in the industry and he is only one of them
Sanyukta Iyer (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 10, 2015)
Her much-hyped debut, R. Balki's Shamitabh, crashlanded at the box-office but Akshara Haasan is still reaping the benefits of working with superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush. "I will flag off three big banner, Bollywood films this year, but please don't ask me for details," pleads the 23-year-old who has absolutely no regrets about starting out with a 'small' part in the male-dominated project. "Shamitabh was a stepping stone of sorts and today I'm being offered strong female leads."
Of late, the grapevine has been buzzing about an upcoming film with Sridevi. Akshara shrugs off the rumour saying, "I would love to work with her but we have not signed a film together."
And what about a film with sister Shruti? "I'm definitely up for it, it could be a Hindi film or a South movie, but I need to connect with the role and Shruti on-screen," she reasons. "I would also love to work with my parents (Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur) at a later stage."
She was often spotted on the sets of her mother's film, Purani Jeans, where she got friendly with her father's Ek Duuje Ke Liye co-star, Rati Agnihotri's son Tanuj Virwani. They have since been spotted together at events and are said to be going steady. "I have so many friends in the industry and he is only one of them," she says shortly.
