Ashish Deo's upcoming
directorial venture Black Home is a social drama that comments
staunchly on the illegal activities happening inside juvenile remand
homes and how a juvenile delinquent is pushed further into
crime, instead of emerging out of the sinister world. The filmmaker
believes his is an honest film with a solid message. “Films are either
good or bad but Black Home redefines the contrasting extremes and
qualifies as a true film. Usually, movies are made in ideal situations
but in this case, we had to grab the best available situation. The movie
is the realisation of what I've seen and experienced during my research
on remand homes. I met so many children from several black homes and
also interviewed many who have spent years inside. My film is a sincere
attempt to create awareness about this sensitive issue. Such grave
problems are a slap
on our hypocrisy and I hope this movie can shake and break our immunity
towards the wrong happenings around us,“ he says.
Black Home is produced by Samajik Samta Manch, Vijay Kamble and co-produced by Mahesh R. Salunkhe releases March 20.
