SHAMITABH recorded poor first week figures of 18 crore nett in Week 1. The film has a huge reduction of shows in week two and so it will not add much more to its first week total. These sort of films are never likely to get an initial and so its about holding on weekdays. But here the weekday collections fell fast.
The film had reasonable figures in South India over the weekend especially Tamil Nadu/Kerala and Mysore but even these had low figures on the weekday. Tamil Nadu/Kerala had a poor trend over the weekend so falls were always likely but Mysore at least should have done better.
The collections in the Northern and Central belts are a disaster. When Delhi NCR and Punjab do not perform for multiplex films the writing is on the wall.
------------------------------------
BABY grossed 7.50 crore nett in its third week taking its three week total to 77.50 crore nett. The fall in the third week was less than the fall in the second week and the film will finish with lifetime business of 80 crore nett.
The film is the highest grosser ever for a Akshay Kumar starrer in West Bengal and Mysore with collections of 4 crore nett and 5.75 crore nett respectively after three weeks. These two circuits are reasonable but others are low.
Mumbai is struggling to reach 30 crore nett when a HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY crossed 40 crore nett. Delhi/UP will gross 16.50 crore nett in its lifetime run while HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY was 24 crore nett. The collections in CP, CI, Rajasthan are worst with none of these circuits even crossing 4 crore nett.
