On February 13, the unit flagged off a 31-day schedule in Rajasthan which explains why the actor, who was shooting solo in a farmhouse in Gopalgarh village near Jaipur, couldn't be with his Valentine. However, he dashed to Delhi, where Deepika Padukone was shooting with Ranbir Kapoor for Tamasha, the following day and took her shopping at a high-end mall in Gurgoan before rushing back to work.
While Ranveer was in the capital, a set was erected in Sambhar desert, an hour away from Jaipur. The war sequences were filmed there all of last week.
"Besides the actors, there were 350 horses, 20 elephants and two cannons," informs a source from the unit. "For a month we will be shooting at Amer Fort, Raigad, Kanota Fort and Sambhar. This week Ranveer will be shooting a song, solo, before Deepika who plays Mastani, joins him. She will also film a solo song."
Ranveer's look has been kept under a cap the last few weeks. On location, the source informs that the actor has been keeping his 'bald' look covered by an over-sized turban. "He's dressed in pathani salwar with rings on every finger and a large moustache twirled at the ends, a la Veerappan. Even off the sets, he is in character," adds the source.
The film also stars, Priyanka Chopra as Kashibai, Bijirao's first wife. The source reveals, "She has completed her portions but will be back to film one song which will feature the trio."
