On February 17, 2006, Salman Khan was sentenced to a year in prison for hunting two Chinkaras at Bhawad and a Black Buck at Ghoda Farm in Rajasthan. The sentence was stayed by a higher court following an appeal.

On April 10, the actor was handed a five year jail term. He was remanded to Jodhpur jail until April 13, before he was granted bail. During his 72-hour stay in prison, he was identified as 'Quaidi No. 210' and shared a cell with Mahesh Saini.

Today, Saini will make his acting debut, playing himself, in Ranjeet Sharma's film, Qaidi No. 210. The film which chronicles the Black Buck case rolls in Filmistan Studio today. They will also shoot in Jodhpur Central Jail later this month.

"I've signed Salman's driver, Harish Dhulani, and we will be using the same Gypsy he drove during the shikaar," says Ranjeet.

He has been closely following the case over the last decade and is not worried about any roadblocks. "I'm a resident of Jodhpur, my paperwork is in order and I've taken all the necessary permissions. We will be shooting the courtroom scene on February 25, the day Salman's verdict is expected," he says.

The 49-year old actor who is filming Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in Karjat, will be flying to Jodhpur for the final hearing on the case.

Salman hasn't been informed about the film and Ranjeet has no plans of bringing him on board, officially. "It's not a biopic so I don't need his permission," the filmmaker reasons. "Usmaan Khan who looks a lot like Salman will play him. I'll be signing two newcomers to play Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif. I love Salman. The film will not portray him in a bad light."
