Ayushmann Khurrana and debutante Bhumi Pednekar’s soon to release Dum Laga Ke Haisha looks like a remake of the Marathi film Agadbum. The basic premise has striking resemblance to Satish Motiling’s directorial venture. The story revolves around a pretty but obese girl Sandhya Verma (Bhumi) and sombre, sweet Prem Prakash Tiwari (Ayushmann). Prem is a young lad from a small town, who is a huge Kumar Sanu fan and is scared of his overbearing father. Sandhya on the other hand is a 22-year-old, who weighs 85 kilos and has just two aims in life, one to become a teacher and the second to be married to a man of her dreams, who will love and respect her. Prem doesn’t mind getting hitched, but Sandhya is not the girl of his dreams! But circumstances — a promise his parents had made to a friend years ago — force Prem to get married to his extra large loving wife, who he’s clearly embarrassed of. With no solution, but to stay in his marriage. Prem keeps a safe distance from Sandhya, who is trying hard to fit in as please her hubby.

Prem’s mother then insists on her son participating in a running competition with his wife. Will Prem will again succumb to his family pressure or find true love in an XL package? That is the story of Sharat Katariya’s movie. Cute na?
