Last year, during Dil Dhadakne Do's Turkey schedule, Ritesh Sidhwani was enjoying a relaxed day on a secluded beach in Anatolia. Many members of the crew joined him on the sunny break while Farhan Akhtar, who is also the film's co-producer, was the only cast member around.
No one noticed when Ranveer Singh's hairdresser, Darshan, who was sun-bathing on the sands, dived into the Mediterranean sea for a dip. And soothed by the cool waters of the deceptively serene ocean, he swam out a little too far and was caught by a powerful current.
A source, who was present on the scene, told Mirror, "Darshan was being swept away when someone spotted his flaying hands and raised an alarm. And without a second thought Farhan, who's an excellent swimmer, dove in after him and pulled him back to safety. Had it not been for Farhan's herogiri, Darshan might have drowned."
The real-life hero was too modest to reply to our texts but his sister and the film's director Zoya confirmed the hairraising news, admitting that it was a close shave for Darshan.
