Shreya hitched!

On January 29 National Award winning singer Shreya Ghoshal put out a mysterious tweet which read, "Don't know if I'm super nervous or super excited.. Never felt like this b4. Whatever I am up to I will let u know soon.. but need ur wishes."

Well, now we know the reason for the Piyu Bole singer's mixture of nervousness and excitement. Shreya quietly took the pheras yesterday with her long-time steady Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya in an "extremely private ceremony" in suburban Mumbai.

When Mirror checked with Shreya's frequent collaborators and close friends, all of them, from Shoojit Sircar to Sonu Nigam and Swanand Kirkire expressed surprise at the news.

"Let me check with her, I'll call you back," Swanand told Mirror. He never did call back.

However, a source close to Shreya informed that she would make an announcement after the wedding which took place according to Bengali rituals. "The couple has planned a big reception for their friends in the fraternity as even their closest professional associates weren't invited last night," added the source.

Shiladitya is a Mumbai-based entrepreneur and the founder of an IT firm. "He's known Shreya for years and is as much in love with her soulful voice as he is with her lovely face and sweet nature. All their friends knew that they were seeing each other and would eventually get married. Late last year he proposed to her and she accepted immediately," said the source. "Later in the month Shreya will fly off to South Africa for a concert but the news that she is Mrs Mukhopadhyaya now will be out before that."
