Kangana to scale new heights

She's just back from her European sojourn, but it seems Kangana Ranaut still hasn't had her fill of mountains. Mirror has learnt that the actress will next be seen in a film about a mountaineer who scales one of the tallest peaks of the world. The film will be directed by Hansal Mehta, who has previously helmed the National Award-winning biopic on slain activist-lawyer Shahid Azmi.

A source close to the development told Mirror, "Hansal has spoken to Kangana about the film, he thinks that Kangana is ideal for the part. However, he will start developing the script only after he has finished Aligarh - another true-to-life film about a gay professor's affair with a rickshaw-puller."

The source added that the actress, who won critical acclaim for her turn in Queen, will have to undergo rigorous training for the film, which is inspired by a real-life mounteneer. The film will be produced by Sandeep Singh and expected to go on floors in September.

Confirming the news, Kangana told Mirror, "I've nursed the desire to do a biopic for a long time. With a director like Hansal, it's as good as it gets!"
