Bollywood filmmakers are
increasingly adopting new-age technology to shoot complex action
sequences. The promos of Akshay Kumar's Baby have got noticed for its
action quotient. Presented by Gulshan Kumar and produced by Bhushan
Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Shital Bhatia, the film also stars Taapsee
Pannu, Rana Daggubati, Danny Denzongpa and Anupam Kher.
The Neeraj Pandey-directed film promises interesting stunts choreographed by Hollywood action director Cyril Rafaeli, who has previously worked on films like The Transporter and Hulk among others. Neeraj used Octocopter drone to picturise fast-paced action sequences across the desert of Abu Dhabi. Unlike the normal drone used in Bollywood before, these have advanced flexibility and payload capabilities.
The movie's DOP (director of photography) Sudeep Chatterjee points out that 'cutting-edge technology' has expanded the imagination of filmmakers. He says, “Neeraj and I were clear that we wanted a particular sequence in the desert to be as real as possible, but the terrain did not permit the use of normal cameras. We finally shot it with this drone.“
Baby, produced by T-Series, Friday Filmworks, Crouching Tiger and Cape Of Good Films, releases January 23.
