The shoot of Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro has finally kicked off in Bhuj after being delayed by two months due to lead actor Hrithik Roshan’s injury. And if industry insiders are to be believed, the filmmaker had to find a last- minute replacement for his cinematographer.

A source says, “The film was supposed to go on the floors by the end of last November, but was advised bed rest for six weeks. Ayananka Bose had originally been signed as the cinematographer but when the film was delayed, he took up other projects. Many technicians do that as they are paid on a project-to-project basis.”

The source adds that when Bose was informed about Mohenjo Daro’s shoot starting from January 27, he asked the director if he could wrap up the other commitments and join the unit directly at the location. “But Gowariker didn’t agree to the idea and decided to hire C K Muraleedharan, who has worked as a DoP for most of Rajkumar Hirani’s films,” the insider states.

Gowariker and Bose did not reply to our text message. Mohenjo Daro is Hrithik’s second movie with the filmmaker after Jodhaa Akbar (2008).
