Mirror was the first to report (December 15, 2014) that Smriti Irani has opted out of the Umesh Shukla-directed Abhishek Bachchan-Asin starrer All Is Well owing to her commitments as a Union HRD minister.

Her exit had cast a cloud over the film's fate. But Mirror can now report that the family drama is all set to resume shooting with Supriya Pathak stepping into Smriti's shoes as Abhishek Bachchan's mother.

Smriti had shot for more than half the film before her political career took an upswing and the makers had no option but to look for an alternative. Buzz is, they were in talks with Tanve Azmi and Shifaali Shah too. But the former was busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani and the latter too had other commitments. Supriya was keen on the role. The makers had several meetings with her in December and after a narration, she agreed to come on board.

The film will resume from January 15. All the portions which were filmed with Smriti will be reshot.

The film's producer Bhushan Kumar was not avail able for comment. But Supriya told Mirror, “Yes, we've had several discussion on the film. It's a great role and I'm very eager to start All Is Well.“
