The equation between
Bollywood A-listers and the paparazzi has been peppered with conflicts
and boycotts of late. In June, Shraddha Kapoor allegedly kept the
photographers waiting for two hours and then refused to pose for them.
This episode lead to them 'banning' the actress till she decided to
appease them with a meet-and-greet session.
A month later, the photographers' union boycotted Salman Khan after his security personnel roughed up some shutterbugs at a promotional event. Unlike Shraddha, Salman refused to patch-up with them and the ban against the actor continues unabated to date.
The lensmen have been blaming stars for acting pricey and making them wait endlessly for photo-ops; the celebrities in turn have been grousing about their aggressive behaviour. However, last Saturday, the click-click brigade was taken by surprise, when they got a personal invitation from Shah Rukh Khan to a special screening of his just-released film, Happy New Year, at a Juhu multiplex. What's more the invitation extended to their families too.
A photographer present at the venue said, “All of us had got along our parents, wives and kids. Shah Rukh played the perfect host with elan.“
After the movie, the actor posed with the families of shutterbugs and ensured that they had plenty of Kodak moment. The overwhelmned photographers' union ensured that Shah Rukh did not return home empty-handed. They had brought along a made-to-order garland which reportedly cost them Rs 6000.
As the evening drew to a close, the actor was garlanded, a la Raijnikanth, as flashbulbs went off and his dimples flashed. Shah Rukh however did not break into the Lungi Dance this time!
