Next week, Salman Khan is flying to Delhi to meet Narendra Modi. No, the star has not developed political ambitions. He is planning to invite the Prime Minister for his sister Arpita's wedding, slated for November 18. Confirming the news, Salman's father, Salim Khan, told Mirror, “Yes, we are inviting Mr Modi to Arpita's wedding.“

Salim Khan was one of the few in the film industry to openly supported Narendra Modi before his landslide Lok Sabha victory, at a time when several fraternity members had launched a campaign against the Bhartiya Janta Party's prime ministerial candidate. He even launched Modi's Urdu website and was present with Salman at his swearing-in ceremony in Delhi. Talking about the wedding which is scheduled to take place in a palace in Hyderabad, Salim said, “Arpita and Aayush ka man hai that they have the wedding in a palace, so you have to support them,“ he said fondly. “My entire family is extremely happy.“

Arpita has been dating Aayush for the past 18 months. Though her beau is from Delhi, the couple plan to settle down in Mumbai and have rented a flat in the same building in Bandra where the Khan family had moved for a few months while their flats in Galaxy Apartments (Bandstand) were being renovated.
Since Salim and Salma's golden wedding anniversary is on the same day, it will be a double celebration for the Khan khandaan.

Modi had earlier attended the wedding reception of Dharmendra and Hema Malini's younger daughter Ahana to Vaibhav Vora on February 2, 2014. But he was not the Prime Minister then.
