Middle finger scene retained in Happy Ending but removed from Ungli by the Censors

Sounds to us as good a reason as any. But the Censor Board doesn’t seem to share Rensil or his team’s well-intentioned enthusiasm. Two flashes of middle finger have been cut from the film. However, Rensil seems content with the cuts and feels that it was “a reasonable cut considering we got a UA certificate.”
The Board, however, hasn’t been consistent on this particular bone of contention. Dimple Kapadia’s middle finger had to be chopped from prints of Abhishek Sharma’s The Shaukeens at the last minute as it was found to be objectionable. But in Happy Ending, Kareena Kapoor’s finger stays intact. Why the partiality?
