Filmmaker Ravi Chopra's final rites were performed at the Vile Parle crematorium on Thursday and many of the Baghban director's collaborators and friends came to pay their last respects. Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji arrived at the filmmaker's Juhu home in the morning to console the grieving family. They stayed back when the body was taken to the crematorium at 11 am. The hearse was escorted by a police vehicle.

The Bachchan family was represented by Abhishek Bachchan at the funeral. Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor were also among the mourners.

Filmmakers including Mukesh Bhatt, Ramesh Sippy and David Dhawan, accompanied by sons Varun and Rohit, joined the funeral and so did Bhushan Kumar, Govinda and Boman Irani. The cast of Chopra's TV magnum opus Mahabharat, was out in full force with Mukesh Khanna, Sanjay Khan and Pankaj Dheer paying their last respects to the director.

Ravi Chopra was suffering from a chronic lung ailment and passed away on Wednesday afternoon.
