Emraan Hashmi, who will be
seen in the upcoming vigilante drama Ungli, signed the film for
two reasons. While the gripping script was the primary reason, Emraan
was sure he didn't want to lose the opportunity of working with his
favourite actor, Sanjay Dutt.
Says a unit member, “Emraan has always wanted to work with Sanjay sir. During the shoot, he narrated how, in his younger days, he used to sneak into the private screenings to watch Sanjay's films.“ Emraan thoroughly enjoyed working with Dutt. What amazed him was that the senior actor never rehearsed his lines and gave impromptu takes.Says Emraan, “Sanju sir is not only a great actor, but also an extremely warm person. Not many know that my grandmother played Sanjay Dutt's grandmother in Naam, which was her last film. I remember sneaking into preview screenings at Ajanta Arts with my friends to watch the film.“
Ungli, produced by Dharma Productions, releases November 28.
