Rahul Khanna is set to return to the hit US TV show, The Americans. Earlier this year, the actor appeared in an episode of the show's second season. He played an Oxford-educated, Pakistani spy working for the KGB while planted within the ISI. His character will return in the third season of the period drama.

Confirming the news, Rahul says, “I had an amazing time working on The Americans and I'm cracking open a bottle of vodka to celebrate being invited back for another round of espionage and adventure with the KGB.“

A source close to the development adds, “Rahul will have a full-blown role in the next season. His track is going to be racy and sexy.“

The actor played the titular role in the episode, Yousaf. And a sex scene was the highpoint of his appearance on the show. For his second stint too, he has signed a 'nudity and simulated sex consent agreement'.

The series created and produced by former CIA officer, Joe Weisberg, is set against the backdrop of the 1980s Cold War. The show's protagonists are two undercover Russian agents who settle down in the suburbs of Washington DC, posing as an American couple.

Season three of the series will be on air early next year.
