Rahul Khanna on how to get a fab body and return to the spotlight
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; October 9, 2014)
You have built a fabulous body. How did you go about it?
I love exercising but I don't stick to one regimen. It is mostly high intensity workouts paired with yoga, pilates, CrossFit, swimming and lots more.
Are you particular about your diet?
Tremendously. I have an insatiable sweet tooth but treat mithais and chocolates as rewards. And it's a strict 'no' to processed and packaged foods.
Has your new look affected your self-image and your life?
Of course, you move better and are not tired all the time. You feel good and your confidence level rises
Was the change driven by vanity since you are an actor?
(Laughs) Surely, the big plus is the visual element.
Why don't we see much of you in Hindi films?
Gosh I don't know, that's for the filmmakers to decide. I enjoy whatever genre and location I get to shoot in. I loved doing Love Aaj Kal and Wake Up Sid as much as I enjoyed my upcoming film Fireflies. It is something I'd never really done before - an independent film in the purest sense of the term. As an actor I depend on what is offered to me.
Are you back in India?
(Laughs) Good question. No, I am in the US, shooting for the TV show Homeland, where I play a Pakistani ISI officer. Currently, we are talking about whether my character will come back in Season 4. I love living out of the suitcase.
What do you when not filming?
I love reading and watching movies. And I like going to theatres in morning and afternoon shows when it is less crowded. I like to watch cinema in complete sensory deprivation. I don't take even a packet of popcorn, else I could get marginally distracted.
