Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor, the Indian adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations, was supposed to roll in Kashmir this month. But nature wreaked havoc with the plan.
"The film will now take off in Mumbai in mid-November," says Gattu (as Abhishek is fondly known), pointing out that they couldn't shoot in the Valley because of the devastation caused by the recent floods.
According to a source close to the unit, while Gattu was prepared to shoot in Kashmir, his film's stars -- Rekha, Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur -- were wary of visiting the state.
A close friend of the director added, "It wasn't an easy decision to shift the venue to Mumbai. The film has already been postponed twice. And the producers were unwilling to wait beyond November."
The shoot will start with Rekha, who plays a desi Miss Havisham, and Aditya who replaced Sushant Singh as Pip.
Katrina, who essays Estella, will be juggling Fitoor with a three-month long schedule of Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos with beau Ranbir Kapoor.
