Sources close to Anil Kapoor insist that the actor is planning to build a film studio in Mumbai. Says a friend of his, “It was his father, producer Surinder Kapoor’s dream to build a studio, a dream he couldn’t achieve in his lifetime. Anil is now seriously looking at fulfilling his father’s dream.”

The actor admits, “I am thinking on those lines. Something like what you have heard, is on the anvil. I’ve been planning it for a very long time. But I could never get down to it before this.”

Now that his daughter Rhea is an active producer and Anil himself is heading towards producing the second season of the Indian version of 24, the family is professionally and financially equipped to cope with the pressures of running a studio on a day-to-day basis.

Says the actor, “So far, I’ve been all over the place. Now there is more stability. I am trying to build a self-sufficient infrastructure which would be functional without my constant physical presence.”
