When Karan Johar and Guneet Monga announced the Hindi remake of the French hit, The Intouchables, speculations were rife about who would play the two male leads. While the original film revelled in the unlikely camaraderie between an elderly wheelchair-bound man and his black nurse, Mirror has learnt that the Indian adaptation will revolve around two young actors in the same age bracket.
Revealed a source close to the development, "Initially, Mohit (director Mohit Suri) had wanted Saif (Ali Khan) to play the physically challenged tycoon, but Karan Johar insisted on an all young cast. Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur have now been shortlisted for the parts and the story is currently being reworked by Mohit and Tushar Hiranandani. who recently wrote Ek Villain."
The film will roll after Mohit wraps up his love triangle, Humari Adhuri Kahani, featuring Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkummar Rao. We sent text messages to both Karan and Mohit but they chose not to comment.
