Salman Khan, who launched
the trailer of Roar - Tigers Of The Sundarbans, was impressed with the
film's visual
effects. Shooting this action adventure set in the dense mangrove forest
was no cakewalk for actor-turned-director Kamal Sadanah and debutant
producer Abis Rizvi.
Showcasing the man-animal conflict, this film has over 800 shots laden
with special effects and aerial visuals of the Sundarbans. Says Sadanah,
“We spent four months doing the test shoots. We shot
with trained tigers from Los Angeles and Thailand and composited these
sequences with the ones taken at Sundarbans with VFX. Abis and I also
took up an online course in visual effects."
While LA-based Michael Watson, who has earlier worked on The Curious
Case Of Benjamin Button, was hired as the DOP, a team from Scandinavia
was roped
in to film the aerial shots using helicams.
Says Rizvi, “With an international crew of 150 on board and a 300-member VFX team, it took us 12 months to edit the film and put our audacious dream out on celluloid."
