Jo Chahta Hai Wahi Kiya, Apni Hi Sharton Pe Yeh Hai Jiya... Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai... This song sums up the spirit of the film Mary
Kom, in which Priyanka Chopra essays the role of India's women's boxing
champion, MC Mary Kom. Created as an ode to the boxer, Ziddi Dil celebrates her never-say-die spirit.
As a token of her appreciation for the iconic sports star, Priyanka has invited Mary Kom for the launch of the film's music in Mumbai tonight. The two will be hosting the event along with debutant director Omung Kumar. Besides, they will also be felicitating five people who fought against all odds to realise their dreams, in sync with the protagonist's never give-up attitude.
A day before the event, Priyanka tells us that her short stint in the boxing ring has taught her lessons that she will never forget. She explains, “It is Mary's ziddi dil that gave wings to this film and I'm looking forward to sharing our journey with her. We have a great event planned to launch the film's music, along with a few surprises. For me, every song in the album comes together in a way that embodies the spirit of the film."
Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal Dadlani, Arijit Singh and Priyanka have lent their voices to the songs while the music has been composed by debutants Shashi-Shivamm.
Mary Kom, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, releases September 5.
