Actors Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan had a close shave on Monday morning when the car they were travelling in met with an accident at Dafnala crossroads near the airport. The duo was in city of Ahmedabad to promote their upcoming film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. They were on their way from the airport to the hotel when a cop’s Tata Sumo rammed into their yellow Audi, shattering the rear glass.

The accident took place around 11 am. Fortunately, nobody was injured. The Tata Sumo belongs to Assistant Commissioner of Police (G Division) J N Parmar, said sources. Varun said, “I was in the yellow Audi whose rear windshield was shattered in the accident. It was very scary. But thankfully, nobody was hurt.”

According to a source, “Both the stars were in the backseat. Their Audi had stopped at a traffic signal. Just then, the driver one of the cars behind them lost control of the vehicle and rammed into their Audi. The impact of the crash was so great that the rear windshield of the Audi shattered completely and a few slivers landed on the seat. Varun and Alia jumped out of the car just in time. They were visibly shaken but escaped unharmed.”
