However, Sunil will not return as Gutthi but as a new character-that of Kapil's father-in-law. He was unhappy with his remuneration and had issues about the amount of footage he was getting on the show earlier. In an interview to Mirror (November 25, 2013) the actor had said: “Since my contract was getting over, I started negotiating with the channel and what followed left a bad taste. But I was simply asking for I hike I deserved. Initially it was a straight 'No', later they told me to 'work on freelance basis' and finally agreed to my terms."
He revealed that the process took a month during which the makers had introduced new characters which they hoped would be as popular as Gutthi. “Unfortunately, they did not succeed but I had had enough. Now they don't want me to take the character to another show. If your wife leaves you, don't you have the right to remarry? But I wasn't a wife, only a 'no strings attached prostitute', who was given a stipulated time to carry out a job," he had argued.
But moving out of the show proved to be costly mistake and according to a source Sunil has now decided to return to the show. The show's producer and Kapil's girlfriend Preeti Simoes confirmed the news.
When contacted, Sunil added, “Yes. I am coming back on Kapil's show. Whatever happens, happens for the best." So, how is his equation with Kapil now? Sunil quipped, “It was always fine.“
Sunil will sign a contract over the weekend and start shooting next week. A source close to the show said, “It's a win-win situation for both Kapil and Sunil. They rocked as a combo and there is no reason why they should repeat their act again."
