After Hate Story made an impact at the box office in 2012, the makers are back this year with Hate Story 2. With a storyline that is unabashedly bold in its content, the sequel promises to be a drama with double the revenge quotient. The erotic thriller marks the Bollywood debut of television stars Jay Bhanushali and Surveen Chawla.

While the actress has donned a sexy avatar for the movie, Jay too has shed his cute boy image. He says, “This film has given me the 'sexy' tag." Its music also has found appreciation on the digital front. The recreated version of the number, Aaj Phir Tum Pe, has especially found several takers.

The film's trailer had crossed one million views online within two days of its release and has now received more than 11 million hits. Happy with the response, director Vishal Pandya says, “I had added responsibility while making the sequel, given the success of the first one. But I must say, Jai and Surveen have done complete justice to their roles.“

Hate Story 2, produced by T-Series, releases July 18.
